Ambis

NetSuite

When I first started Ambis in 2006, I worked with this brand-new company called NetSuite, they were developing a solution that sat on the cloud. I remember thinking “That will never catch on!” and also “Who would put their important Finance data on the internet?” Well, it turns out NetSuite were well ahead of the curve. And the NetSuite Oneworld solution has gone from strength to strength. NetSuite is a dominant player in the mid-market ERP field and is often on an ERP selection shortlist.

They were later bought by the ghastly Oracle Corporation, and so now they can be a little unpredictable with their pricing and licensing. Whatever you do, wait for the last day of the month to sign a NetSuite license deal; that is when the salespeople have their backs against the wall!

NetSuite has some very good functionality and some lovely add-ons, for instance, ProScope is very good for Construction firms.

If I had a criticism, it is that they sponsor the RedBull Formula One racing team, and like any sensible Brit, I loathe Max Verstappen, but I guess it gives them good visibility.

I have recruited NetSuite people across the reseller community and end users. I have hired Consultants and internal PMs for companies doing big NetSuite projects. I have also been very successful in placing NetSuite administrators. It is a very good market for me, and I have some very strong contacts in the consultancy and end users.
